Pirelli Super Series 600 - Croft
This weekend, we were up at Croft for round 4 of the NLR series. Safe to say, it could have been better!
Started the weekend feeling good on the bike, the test day felt positive and I was confident at a track I have little experience of.
Qualifying on the Saturday did not quite go to plan, I had a false neutral going into the complex and ran on the grass, so only got 2 laps in, luckily I had got a decent time in before this happened and so was starting the 1st race from P5, it could have been worse.
Race 1, I managed to get a good start & settle in, I came home in P2, not feeling too great & the confidence was low, just needed to bring home solid points, so aimed to relax & regroup ready for the next race on Sunday.
Starting the second race from P3 on the grid, got off to a good start & led for the opening laps, but then James got past me, I was happy sitting on his tail waiting for the last few laps, unfortunately luck was not with me as it was red flagged, so the race was over early & I came in P2, did manage the fastest lap of the race on Lap 5.
I started the final race on pole, had a good get away with a little lead, then it all went downhill from there & became a survival race, I came into the corner after the back straight & my bike would not go into gear, almost running on, then every time I tried to go down the gears, it would not go in, so had a major problem with the gearbox, running on in a few corners, so I just brought it home the best I could to salvage as many points as possible, ending up in P10.
Well done to James Alderson 19 on taking all 3 wins this weekend and Scott Stone on his wins in the Premier 600 also on the Kawasaki 636.
All in all it was not a great weekend, now just looking forward and taking the positives away from a bad situation.
Mega thanks to all my family & team helping me this weekend And to all my sponsors for your constant support, next up (after fixing the bike of course) is the 1st round of BSB at Oulton Park
