Race report from an epic Donington !
Donington Park ….what can I say !!!
From starting the week feeling as sick as a dog I really didn’t expect this outcome.
Friday we had 2 FP sessions and we were somewhat there, but had a lot of work to do with the bike and setup. FP1 P8 with a FL of 1:32.030 FP2 P7 - FL 1:30.528
Saturday we qualified 4th in the dry with my fastest lap of the weekend - 1:29.752 so we felt good and were happy with how patient I was in that session putting the fastest lap in at the end. Race 1 later that day was unreal, I was in 2nd place on the first half of the race ,but then the red flag came out due to rain, the second half of the race was wet and I put the hammer down and came over the line in P1 for my first race win in Stock 1000 with a 1:39.663, this feeling was unbelievable!!!
Then on Sunday, we had a warm up first, where I came in 2nd - 1:41.279, the weather once again didn’t make it’s mind up until just before we were going out, it was really heavy rain and one of the wettest races I have ever been in. From lap 1 to lap 15 I lead the race to come over the line with a big gap to take my second race win of the weekend and the fastest lap of the race - 1:39.842.
